So I did get sick...

After much anticipation as to whether or not I was to get the flu yesterday I got something even worse; the most horrible migraine in the world yesterday. I was nausea and in heaps of pain so I had to go to emergency room at the hospital last night where after not keeping down the first set of medicine I was given morphine for my pain. Needless to say the pain went away until the morphine wore off 4 hours later and then I had a bitch of a time trying to sleep. Early this morning I went to the pharmacy and got the migraine and nausea medicine which has been helping plus I have been sleeping so I am doing much better. Needless to say anyone who gets migraines I feel your pain now and oh how much does it suck?!!

Ugh so all my roommates have come down with the flu and guess what I'm not feeling so hot. I thought I was fine this morning when I woke up so I finished my final paper revisions and wall-la I now feel sick. I thought no I just have a headache so I took a nap but no I feel nauseous now. It could be I think I am sick cause everyone else is -- so I ate an oranges and took some cold and flu medicine because that is the last thing I need to get before Tonga and HOME!!

No more Mondays!!

Yay for no more Monday classes EVER!! Whoo hoo next week is a feedback night and a good-bye semester party so I am offically done with One of my classes and end the next two on Tuesday 06.06.06 and thus be an offical master's degree recipiant!!! YES

On a side note, yes my hair is still curly; but no I hardly every wear it that way anymore. Its a phase; I'm sure it will pass.

how time has passed

I have been in Australia for 11 months (July - May) and I was reading/looking over some of my older posts. One of the things that was going to be the most difficult thing for me moving to the other side of the planet was going to be surviving on my own as an adult for the first time in my life. Well I can successfully say I made it. I was making dinner tonight and I was marveled at how good my meal looked; in fact all my meals look that way. I have become a pretty damn good chef! I don't eat red meat so I'm not too sure if I can cook that but anything else I can now. I also have mastered washing my clothes, bleaching my whites, hand washing, and using a laundry line to dry my clothes. WOW. Amazing I'm sure. What's more exciting is that I am so anal when it comes to cleaning -- I was always was that way in college but its even more intense and I actually don't mind doing it. This is not to say that when I move home for the first few weeks I won't GLADY let my mom do these things but it is good to know that I am now eligible to be married. Impressive.

so i finally did it

I finally broke down and bought a space heater for my room today -- well mom and dad did ;0) it has been so cold that I have been sleeping in 2 long sleeve shirts and socks and still freezing! So today I was able to work on my papers in my room (3/4 of the way done on paper 2!!). Looking forward to Saturday as I am going to the Sydney Swans game as I bought the ticket way back in February. 3 more weeks of school -- ohh how I can't wait!!

So I just realized that when I get back to Michigan I am going to have no friends there! :0(

I'm not sure what I was really thinking all this time; I mean I know most of my friends have jobs in other states but wow when Erin told me she got a job in LA it really hit me. I guess that's just a part of growing up....who knows where I am going to get a job-I think this might be stressing me out more than school right now. ugh

Round table

I went to the American students in Sydney round table in the city last night...it was actually pretty cool. There were about 12 of us and we basically just talked about out experience here and why we came to Sydney in the first place. It was interesting to see how people from all over the country found out programs over here and basically we all came because it was going to "cost less" and take a year. We like we all said the cost less part well yea, school is less expensive but all of us hadn't planed for the cost of living that we have incurred. Actually there were people from San Francisco and New York who said living in the city there was actually cheaper than what they are spending now!! Things here are just way more expensive. Yea so it was fun evening plus I got 100 USD for the whole thing so not a bad 2 hours!!

the thesis

UGH!! I have 2 more quizes and 3 papers and an outline due before I finish grad school in exactly a month. I'm not too concerned with the quizes as I study the weekend before the quiz and I am fine but the papers are horrible!! I have the outline done and 95% of one paper so that leaves 2 more papers or 8000 words. Plus the research for one of those papers. I CAN NOT TO BE DONE!! This is even worse than last semster as these are the final chapters if you will of my thesis.

I haven't done anything fun lately to update you all on. Every Monday we go and watch our friend Anil at the Coogee Bay Hotel open mic night. We made t-shirts this weekend as a suprise. We bought blo pens that you litteraly blow through an opening and the ink comes out --well I think I have found my calling as you can see by the picture of the shirt I made...I'm amazing at these things! haha

I also have applied for 2 jobs in Detroit just to see...I don't want to live in Michigan and especially Detroit but if I get the job I can deal for a year or so. Who knows I don't think I am qualified for any of the jobs I look at but I guess you never know.
