i HATE the birds

I have said it before and will say it again, I HATE BIRDS!!! I was pissed on at the park today. I have never been pissed on in my entire life but out of no where I feel rain on my arm (mind you it is 75 and sunny out) and I look to see if someone threw something on me but no, all I see are birds, fat, ugly, white devils, flying above me. I'm smart so I figure it out...I have been PISSED on by a bird! This is outrageous-I about cry but no I brush off my shoulder and continue with my day; I can not show fear ... damn you magpies DIE!!

I am sick.

I am sick. I am not happy about this at all. I have a sore throat, sniffles, an ear ache, and my chest hurts. I am not happy about this at all. You have to wait days to see a doctor here. I am not happy about this at all. I think due to all the pressure surrounding finalizing my school papers I have made my self sick. I am not happy about this at all. Being that flu season is full on now that could well be the culprit too. I am not happy about this at all. Tomorrow I am going to buy drugs, good drugs, heavy drugs, I'd send you some but it would be illegal. You are not happy about this at all.

Ohh big night last night...

Sarah's friends got into Sydney so we took them to Lowenbraue and then we met up with my Austrian and French friends to join the Kangaroo Ted Rocks pub crawl--pretty interesting. It was full of backpackers from all over, I met some really cool people from Brasil and El Salvador and a crazy Italian too! We started around 830/9 I think and got back to my place at 3 this morning! I lost my voice ... of course .... but had heaps of fun and it was really good since I have seen stressed out about all these papers due next week! I finished them all yesterday morning so I just have to do final revisions this weekend-whoo. Gonna hit the gym later this afternoon then stay in for a movie night. HOPE YOU ALL ARE ENJOYING WELCOME WEEK but I'll just make my own ww here! ha

The second is a picture of the Galleries Victoria, across the street from the QVB and where my gym is located (the picture is on its side). The third picture is of Town Hall at the corner of George and Druitt Streets across from both of these buildings.

HAPPY DAYS!!
this week has started out quite well...I joined fitness first (the nation-wide gym chain) and feel SO so much better. I think I've lost a kilo in 2 days (no I know I haven't but I have all my energy back)! The gym is way wicked--huge plasma TV's and radio stations, every machine imaginable, lots of classes, and plus you can check out DVD's for 2 days for free!?! I know too good to be true. Its not that far of a walk from my apt. About 10-15 min into the heart of downtown, I'll take pictures and post them soon.

I have an interview tomorrow with the I group, they do all sorts of things but I was hooked up with them at my commercial taping for a promo position at bars and sporting events, think miller lite girls and car shows, so all goes well I start next week with those and I get paid well so that's a bonus. I also have a casting call on Saturday for another TV stint with local "soapies" as they are called here--basically aussie versions of young and the restless and bold and the beautiful for a extra role or something we will see about that. Maybe I will be become some GIANT celebrity over here and come back all tanned, rich, and famous...Could be in the cards?!

one paper left to write and final revisions then on all 3 before they are due next week then I will have some time (about a week or so) to relax and do NO school work!! Yes. Speak soon-

Hey All! I shot the DELL commercial on Saturday it is based after the David Letterman show and is called the Davis Davis Power Hour. When I went through the queue which lasted forever they check you in and send you to wardrobe to check out your "look" well I was passed with "what a great American look!". Well I guess that's good since I am American! Then we all filed into an auditorium (there were 500 extras) so start filming. Unfortunately though my "great American look" included a striped blue shirt which kept messing up the cameras so who knows if I will be in the final product or not...The ad will air from October through January in the states.

I found out which computer company I am doing the commercal for and it's DELL so look for an ad within the next few months back in the states. ... more details to come on where I'm located in the ad after Saturday.

JUST A THOUGHT:
so you know when you first move into a place you think everything is SO far away and it takes FOREVER to get anywhere? Then after a couple of days you feel like everything is SO SO close and it's like BOOM and you're there? Well now I'm at the stage where I am so used to walking everywhere that I am sick of it and it seems like I live so far away again!! (Remember last year girls when we complained about walking to the bars becuase it was so far away--and really come on what was it--about 130 steps!!) ahh oh well I'll get over it!!

nothing new going on really just working on heaps of papers that are due soon. I can't get the pictures to work so eventually I will add some more-gonna be HOT tomorrow, I think I'll hit the beach with sarah!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME!!
yea today is my birthday! this week has been pretty crazy... thursday I had my responsible serving of alcohol class where i met a few fun people and then on friday i went out with my friends from class to a spanish resturant called The Spanish Club for sangria and tapas then to a latin salsa club and to another bar after that--it was a great time and i met some really good people out too. then saturday sarah came over and we went out with some people to darling harbour bars (pontoon and bungalow 8) then judith (the german girl) and i met up with some austraians who were docked at the marina for the midnight offically bday celebration! today i had my golf class and the instructor seems to think i am going to be great because i apparently have all the skills--i know you're proud dad! so hopefully i will be able to keep up someday?! the driving range over looks the ocean as well as the course (St. Michales in Little Bay). since it is offically my birthday right now sarah and i are going to get take away for dinner watch the big brother live eviction show (so good) then i am meeting up with judith to go to lowenbrau the german bar for a little while tonight! ohhh by the way look for me in a computer commercial to come to the states in a few months im going to be an extra in it (dont know the brand yet...i film next saturday the 21st) i have a face for tv i guess. and the job market is looking up i have a trial run next weekend at COHIbar in darling harbour!! good times

Oh and I had an interview at the bar today...maybe this one need a little blonde-since the other one told me that they weren't looking for a blonde but would call me back "for sure" when they did. right. Oh and apparently I look Italian because 3 people in the past 4 days have asked me if I was. And I'll get on posting some pictures of Sydney and Pyrmont soon...

ONE MONTH!!

I got really annoyed with how my apt was set up that I just spent the last hour rearranging it. The cable plug and the internet/phone outlets are on different walls and so none of them reached my table. However I think it looks better now and all I need is a coffee table and all my problems would be solved.

Hey there! I got my computer from customs yesterday (had to take a train to the middle of no where but i made it) and today i got hooked up with the internet--yea!! I'm so excited, i like internet cafes but they are noisy and quite expensive after awhile. Plus now I have something to do when I get bored, which is all the time right now. No but really I have to start to work on my papers for my classes already since they are all due at the same time-boo. Im looking forward to this weekend, tomorrow Im going to a birthday party for a german girl that is really good friends with sarah and then on saturday im going out to dinner with the michigan girl in my thursday night class. Winter is back-today was quite cold and rainy...

I was so annoyed today that I had to write this...I know you are not supposed to hate people/things/etc but none the less, I HATE BIRDS!!! In my daily journeys I cross through Darling Harbour to get to Liverpool street downtown. Well every single day I must compete with birds to get there. They literally are everywhere-every where! They are so disgusting for example, one very large unattractive bird came darting towards me, stopped, and green spew came from its rear end onto the sidewalk right by my feet. It was so revolting and vile that I almost got sick right there but no, I must continue on my journey so that I will reach Liverpool and fend of the birds. So I almost made it and 3 not just one but 3 magpies came swooping down towards me. Magpies are the worst birds ever invented they attack-they enjoy the ears, nose, and very much like to pluck out eyes-or so I'm told and have no reason otherwise to not believe this-therefore I had to run in 3-inch boots all the way over the pedestrian bridge for fear of losing my precious eyes. So today Mom I break your rule and say I HATE BIRDS!!!

My 23rd birthday is in exactly 2 weeks! This will be the first time I haven't been with my family and friends for any one of my birthdays...I think that will be the hardest thing plus, I love birthday cake! I guess I will have to go out and buy myself a slice of cake since we all know I can't bake one, and cake is eaten on an everyday basis over here so it won't be too hard to find a peice. 23 is a strange age -- back home I would be just starting my working career or still in school but here, 23 is very adult. Most people that age have been working for 3 to 5 years and maybe even married or have kids! No thanks-i'll take the American way on that one. I don't really think of myself as an adult yet, but I am learning how to be one (domestic at least) ... I have been practicing my cooking (!) and my laundry skills are doing okay as well. I watch this program called Ready, Steady, Cook almost everyday and I think it is starting to inspire me- I made a nice chicken fajita type of thing last night and I actually liked it so it muct have been pretty good since I'm so picky. I also tried to bake my Moms oatmeal rasin cookies but that was to no success-so I guess I won't be a baker then...
