I'm coming home!!!

I finally have a plane ticket home!! The exact date of my American arrival: 13 June 2006
I will be making my way from Sydney to San Fransisco to Chicago to Detroit and arriving at 11.20 pm at Metro on United. That's 45 days and 3 quizes and the last 3 papers/parts of my thesis too ... boo!! I will have everything turned in to my director on the 6th of June, pack on the 7th for home and Tonga, and head off to The Kingdom of Tonga on the 8th. We shortened our trip will be flying back to Sydney on the 12th and then at 2.40 pm the following day I fly out for good! Or at least for awhile-I wouldn't mind returning to vacation in Australia; actually I know I will be back-just not to live. I am so excited to get back and see my parents who I haven't seen since the 27th of December, and my Daisy Dog. I saw my brother last week for 10 days which was great but made me a bit homesick and anxious to get that ticket home. I also can't wait to see all my friends some of whom I haven't seen since graduation last year!! I know everyone has real life jobs and all now but I am ready for one myself. I feel I have a good 5-10 years of work in me ;0) so I might as well get started now because they sooner I start the closer I am to not having to work!! Haha So if you know anyone or someone who knows someone who has an uncle that can get me a J-O-B help a kid out and give me their names!! Professional sports, collegiate, or a sports orientated company works for me....I'll be checking my email kim.kelsey@gmail.com for those names!!

Well I have been working on research for this paper for 3.5 hours now and I think I have gone mad so I'm going to get ready for uni and head out- until later!!

Days 5 and 6 were spent in the lovely Cairns, Queensland, Australia--about a 3 hour flight north where Cyclone Monica dumped buckets beyound buckets of rain on us .... some roads had 6 feet standing water. Needless to say we changed our flight and went home early so we could go to the Sydney's Taronga Zoo

MTV Australian Video Music Awards

Yesterday I went to the AVMAs -- the entire day sucked, we were herded around like cattle all day and locked up in rooms until we finally entered the mosh pit areas after 5 hours!! We had an amazing spot however--we were right on the walk-way where the starts walked up to present awards. So Ashlee Simpson grabbed my hand, the guitar player from The Darkness kissed my hand, and I was on TV all night....so in the end it was fine. The show was a joke as hardly any celebs were there and we left before the finally because all of us were dead tired and I had a throbbing headache -- mostly likely from lack of food, and standing all day---ohh and maybe the music too. But it was an experience -- I only wish I had been able to bring my camera...

stuff

I went to see V for Vendetta last night....I didn't like it at all. Everyone I know who has seen the movie said it was great -- I wasn't thrilled by it and the mask creeps me out. I have been partaking in movies more and am going to see Failure To Launch next Thursday as well. The theater by school is cheap and I haven't felt like going out much since I am always sick....

On a bright note though, I will be going to the MTV music awards here in Sydney on Wednesday. I was choosen as one of five hundred people to be in the "mosh" pit. We will be standing at the stage for the live music. I'm pretty excited about that! And then, on Saturday Troy arrives!!! Then it is almost time for me to come home... I CAN'T WAIT!!

Since I am still not feeling very well I decided that instead of going to the gym today I would just do the South Coogee Beach walk by my house and take some pictures since it was amazing out today....a bit cool - only 70; the heaps of sun make up for it and made it a great afternoon--

babbles....

so it has been quite cold here in Sydney until this week when the weather has been AMAZING ... it is 88 out right now -- of course I feel horrible and am unable to enjoy the weather to its fullest but it is great.

I thought I would just make a list of things that have been annoying me a lot lately and maybe this will make me feel better:

- people who do not wear deodorant (tends to be Asians and middle Easterners) ... esp. at the gym or on the public bus system
- people who have to jump on the machine, seat, stand directly next to you when there are plenty of spots around (again seems to be the Asian races)
- people who find it difficult to close cupboards, turn off lights, shut doors
- people who do not clean up after themselves in common areas (bathrooms and kitchens mostly but TV rooms as well)
- not having a working dryer
- Australia not prescribing medicine for colds
- the price of bananas since cyclone Larry wiped out the crops
- not being able to drive anywhere
- wanting to be a home .... not sure what I would be doing -- but still...
- lectures being repeated because non-English speakers don't understand (it IS a masters level -- don't come here if you cant speak English!!)
- the bus never being on time
- people never being on time
- lack of Mexican food
- cost of movies

.... that's prolly enough for now but you get my point -- i'm sick, i'm annoyed, and i am ready to come home!!

Great Movie

This weekend I went to see the movie Inside Man, if you haven't seen it already I highly recommend it!! Very interesting. I'm sick again--of course right?! Why wouldn't I be....ugh and the weather has taken a turn for the worse as it didn't even reach 70 today. It was sunny but the wind made it too cold to sit out on the beach so that sucked as I like to bake out my sickness. Troy comes in 12 days so that will be fun and it is much warmer up north where we are heading so at least I can keep warm up there!!
